Speaking about his experience, Ojay said he was surprised by how frequently women ask for money, noting that he felt people could not even exchange simple greetings without expecting financial requests.
“Everybody just asks for money. Everybody is always asking for money, that’s the only thing I see. I think that would be the biggest shock for me,” he said.
According to him, his experience abroad was different, as people generally went about their activities without making financial demands during ordinary interactions.
“But here, you cannot even say ‘Hi, Hello’ without getting billed. I’m waiting to meet somebody that in the first two months, says, ‘You are not billing me.’ So yeah, for me,” he added.
When asked whether he expected to spend money while dating a woman, Ojay clarified that he was not opposed to spending on his partner, but described the frequency of money-related conversations as a major cultural difference for him.
“No, I’m not saying I don’t want to spend, but the cultural shock is too much. Yeah, money, money, money. That’s the only thing everybody talks about. So for me, that would be my biggest cultural shock,” he said.
